We do not steal your flips
Flippedit connects to eBay through eBay's official API. We never see or store your eBay password. You authorise the app in eBay's own login, you can revoke it in eBay's settings, and we use the data to calculate your profit, not to front-run your sourcing. If the objection is “they will steal my flips,” this is the page that should kill it.
Nothing charged until the trial ends. Cancel anytime.
The objection, said plainly
Sellers who source rare SKUs have a rational fear: if I connect my store to a third party, does that third party now know what I sell, what I pay, and where I hunt?
Yes, a connected profit app can see listings and sales. That is required to do the job. The question is what we do with it.
We calculate your fees, your profit, your stale stock. We do not run a competing store off customer catalogues. We do not sell your inventory list as a lead magnet. We do not email your best SKU to another user.
If that sentence is the only thing you needed, you can connect and leave. The rest is how the pipe actually works, so you are not taking it on a homepage vibe.
Official API, not a password form
Flippedit is not a made-by-eBay product. It is an independent app in eBay's third-party program.
When you hit connect:
- You are sent to eBay's login and consent screen.
- You approve the scopes the app needs (sales, listings, fees, the boring business ones).
- eBay gives Flippedit tokens. Those tokens are not your password.
- Flippedit uses them to sync daily. You can also trigger a manual sync.
Phishing lookalikes ask you to type an eBay password on a random domain. We do not. If a screen asks for your eBay password on flippedit.com.au, it is not our connect flow.
Revoke: eBay account settings, connected apps, disconnect Flippedit. Tokens die. Sync stops. That control is eBay's, which is how it should be.
What we pull, and why
From eBay:
- Completed sales and prices (to know revenue)
- Transaction fees and promoted listing costs (to know the cut)
- Refunds and cancellations (to stop lying about a week)
- Active listings (to know what is stale, and to match costs)
- Postage the buyer paid on each order (because eBay's fee is charged on item plus postage, and the sale should show that)
Everything above arrives through eBay's official API on the daily sync, and you can run a manual sync from the dashboard whenever you want to check the numbers sooner.
We do not need your buyer messages to compute profit. We do not need to change titles unless you turn on auto-relisting, which is an explicit automation: end a quiet listing, Sell Similar the keepers. Default behaviour is read.
“Steal my flips” in practice
To steal flips we would have to:
- Take customer listing data
- Go source the same items
- Compete with the people who pay us $39 AUD a month
That is a stupid business. We are two people in Australia selling software. The company dies if sellers think the dashboard is a snitch. Using your store as a sourcing feed is not a secret growth hack. It is a way to get disconnected and reviewed into the ground.
We still owe you a legal document, not a vibe. The full notice is Privacy Policy: what we process, that we do not process sensitive identity categories as a product feature, that we do not collect personal information from third-party data brokers, encryption, Australian Privacy Principles, contact info@flippedit.com.au. This page is the seller-English version for eBay data.
Hosting and who we are
Flippedit Pty Ltd. Australian company. Services hosted in Australia. If you are overseas, you are sending data to Australia. Terms say so. We would rather be boring and local than vague and “the cloud.”
Encryption in transit and at rest is the baseline, not a marketing badge. It does not make a bad actor honest. Combined with official OAuth and a revoke button, it is the correct stack.
We will not claim SOC-theatre we do not have. Trust is: official API, no password, Australian host, written policy, humans who answer support.
What staff can see
Support can look at a store when you ask for help, the same way any SaaS can. That is how “three items need cost data” tickets get solved. Staff using your SKUs on the weekend is not a perk. If you ever think it happened, write to us. The economic incentive is the other way: we need you selling, not us picking your aisle.
The dashboard you see after connecting is your store: your sales, your fees, your profit. It is not a public catalogue of anyone's sourcing, and we do not treat connected stores as a product feed.
Scopes, in seller English
eBay apps request permissions (scopes). You should read the consent screen. In practice a profit tracker needs to read selling data: orders, fees, listings. Sending messages as you, changing your bank details, or taking over the account are not required to subtract $2.88 from $21.71.
If a consent screen looks like it is asking to run the store as you, stop and check you are on eBay's domain and that the app name is Flippedit. Then write to us before you approve it. We would rather explain a scope than inherit a panic.
Auto-relisting is the one write-shaped feature, and it is opt-in. Until you enable it, treat the connection as read.
What we do not collect for the tracker
We do not need your driver's licence, your op-shop membership, or your buyer's home address to show profit. Order data includes what eBay sends for the sale. We are not building a marketing graph of your customers to sell to a third party.
Analytics on flippedit.com.au (the marketing site) is a different pipe from the dashboard. The legal policy covers both. This page is about the eBay token.
Incidents
No company should promise it will never have a bad day. If we became aware of a data incident that affected you, we would follow the Privacy Policy and Australian requirements, including notifying you and the OAIC when that is required. “We encrypt things” is not a substitute for that process. It is one control inside it.
Your fastest personal control remains: revoke the eBay app.
Competitors and “who else can see this”
Connecting Flippedit does not publish your store to other Flippedit users. There is no social feed of “hot SKUs this week” built from customer data. Support sees what you ask them to see. That is the whole audience.
eBay itself already has the listings. The fear is rarely eBay. It is a small app behaving like a larger, hungrier one. We are small on purpose.
How to try this without feeling trapped
- Read eBay sync if you want the feature list.
- Start the free 7-day trial; nothing is charged until it ends ($39 AUD/mo or $299 AUD/yr).
- Connect via eBay's screen, not a password form.
- Watch one sync. Confirm the listings are yours and the fees match.
- If the trust is not there, revoke in eBay before you pay.
Start free 7-day trial only after that sequence feels obvious. We would rather lose a signup than win one on a lie about data.
See true profit on your own store
Connect eBay, add costs, and start with a free 7-day trial. Nothing is charged until the trial ends. After that, cancel keeps access until the period ends. Payments already made are not refundable.
Start free 7-day trialCommon questions
Does Flippedit store my eBay password?
No. You log in through eBay's official system. We receive tokens through eBay's OAuth-style consent flow. We cannot type your password because we never had it.
Can Flippedit see my listings and sales?
Yes, that is the point of a profit tracker. Sales, fees, listings, refunds, and promoted listing costs are pulled so we can show true profit. We do not need that data to go shopping as you.
Will you copy my inventory or sourcing?
No. We are a two-person Australian software company, not a competing reseller using customer stores as a product feed. Using customer listings to source would kill the company. The legal privacy notice is at /privacy-policy.
Where is data stored?
Services are hosted in Australia. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Details and rights sit in the Privacy Policy under Australian Privacy Principles.
How do I disconnect?
Revoke the app in your eBay account connections. You can also close Flippedit. After you revoke, we cannot keep syncing.
