Every business cost, filed once.

Item profit looks healthy until the store subscription, the packaging order and the storage unit are counted. Store fees, dispute charges and return labels arrive from eBay on their own. Packaging, storage and software take one entry, or one recurring rule. Attach the receipt and the P&L picks it all up.

What it is
Files eBay store fees, dispute charges and return labels as expenses on their own, and holds the rest with a receipt attached.
You still do
Add packaging, storage and software once, or set them to repeat.
eBay already does
Bills you for store fees and charges, but never groups them as business expenses.
What changes
Business expenses land on the P&L all year, instead of being reconstructed from bank statements in July.

One ledger for the costs that are not on a sale

Business expenses sit next to your sold items, with the eBay charges already filed and a receipt on anything you bought yourself.

  • eBay charges filed for you Store subscriptions, dispute fees and return labels arrive with each sync, categorised and de-duplicated.
  • Recurring expenses Set software, storage or insurance to weekly, monthly or yearly and the expense is created on schedule.
  • Receipts attached Upload a photo or PDF of the receipt with a description and date, and find it again at tax time.
  • Tax deductible flag Mark what is deductible and see the deductible total for any period.

How it works in Flippedit

Business expenses are the costs that do not belong to one sale. Flippedit files the eBay ones itself, repeats the regular ones on schedule, and keeps the receipt with the entry.

Filed from eBay

Each sync files store subscription invoices, payment dispute fees and return labels as expenses under Subscription, Disputes or Returns, de-duplicated by transaction ID.

One-off expenses

Description, category, vendor, amount, payment method, tax deductible flag and notes. Identical charges group together in the list.

Recurring expenses

Set weekly, monthly or yearly with the day it falls on. The expense is created on that date. Pause, resume or create one now.

Receipts

Upload an image or PDF up to 10 MB with a description and date. Files are stored as you upload them and are not scanned for amounts.

Write-offs

Damaged, lost or donated stock is written off with a reason and its COGS, and shows as its own line on the P&L.

On the P&L

Business expenses and write-offs sit under operating expenses, below gross profit, so net profit for the period includes them.

Tax deductible total

Mark what is deductible and read the deductible count and amount for any period.

A few things you might be wondering.

Get clear on the details before you connect your store.

Which eBay charges are added automatically?

Store subscription invoices, payment dispute fees and return shipping labels, categorised as Subscription, Disputes or Returns. Fees that belong to a sale, such as final value fees and promoted listing fees, stay on the sold item instead.

Can I set up a recurring expense?

Yes. Choose weekly, monthly or yearly with the day it falls on. The expense is created automatically on that date and you can pause or resume it at any time.

What file types can I attach as a receipt?

Images (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and more) and PDFs up to 10 MB. Each receipt has a description and date so you can filter by period.

Do expenses appear on the P&L?

Yes. Business expenses and write-offs are listed under operating expenses, below gross profit, so the net profit on the statement includes them.
